Daniel Felix Ritchie School of Engineering & Computer Science
A human-centered education for tomorrow’s engineers and computer scientists.
At the Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science, we take pride in our unrelenting focus on hands-on, experiential learning.
Through our small class sizes, faculty committed to mentoring and a nurturing and supportive environment we holistically prepare the next generation of engineers and computer scientists to lead, even in fields which do not yet exist.
Because new career paths will emerge faster than most schools can adapt, we craft our education around adaptability, interdisciplinary learning, cultural fluency and applied, integrated skill development. Our work is about more than what we research and innovate: from biomedical engineering and robotics, to preparing students for careers that serve global populations, we center the diverse communities who will benefit most from technologies, infrastructures and systems of the future.
Maximizing Experiential Learning
We inspire students to become lifelong learners with strong technical skills and a deep commitment to ethical leadership in service to people of all backgrounds. Your gift enables us to provide students with an environment that transforms their ideas into working prototypes, while also teaching them to work together in diverse teams. Funding further elevates our ability to offer experiential, real-world preparation during all four years of a student’s undergraduate experience, including support with robotics projects, case studies, prototype design, coding challenges and critical global learning experiences.
Ensuring Research and Scholarly Excellence
Our faculty both teach in the classroom and conduct their own cutting-edge research and scholarship, often engaging our students in that work. Funding for endowed professorships and research seed funds will enable creative, competitive hiring and programmatic developments that attract outstanding students of many backgrounds and enhance the quality and impact of our interdisciplinary scholarship.
