DU Priorities
STEM Horizons
A new home for scientific discovery, innovation and education
DU’s STEM faculty have a long history of world-changing research and innovation – including being the first to take measurements of Einstein’s theory of relativity at our high-altitude research station to designing and testing the bumpers on the International Space Station.
In the past decade alone, DU’s overall research volume has tripled and demonstrated distinct promise in disciplines like biology, chemistry and engineering. Today, DU boasts outstanding biological science research programs where our faculty members consistently break ground in foundational science research that ultimately advances solutions to significant 21st century challenges across clinical sciences
to universal health outcomes.
At the south end of campus, our new STEM Horizons building will add 87,000 square feet of vibrant research, laboratory, community partnership, entrepreneurial incubation and hands-on learning space.
