University Libraries

Sustaining the heart of DU.

At the heart of every great university is a great library.

The University of Denver Libraries – ranked #3 in the U.S. by Princeton Review – buttress research and education across all majors and programs, resourcing everyone from first-year undergraduates to senior faculty and our wider community. Our distinctive collections and primary sources preserve diverse cultural heritages, broaden information access within our community, shape courses and impact the productivity of our faculty’s renowned global research. Our buildings provide environments for students to digest our experiential, applied education that marks a dramatic shift in conventional thinking about what the university experience can and should be in the 21st century. And our librarians foster the necessary skills for students to engage critically and constructively across disciplines and media.

DU is the only private university in the Rocky Mountain region to hold an R1 classification in national acknowledgement of our commitment to exceptional research: deep, rich and diverse collections developed by the University Libraries are pivotal for sustaining and sharing DU’s unique intellectual contributions.
