Among 400 APA-accredited doctoral programs nationwide, DU’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology is one of the top 3 schools in the country and remains a global leader in mental and behavioral health research, education and service.
Our comprehensive programs — including Clinical Psychology, Sport and Performance Psychology, Forensic Psychology and International Disaster Psychology– demonstrate our dedication to serving vulnerable populations and training for transformative care.
As demand for psychologists grows significantly, our programs fill a critical gap: over one third of PsyD practitioners in our local region are DU graduates, and our work to improve underlying systems of care for the whole person within a social system is revolutionizing mental and behavioral health care in and well beyond the Rocky Mountain region.
Supporting Student Scholarships
Financial support that increases the number and value of scholarships for graduate students will pave the way for outstanding individuals to join the mental health profession in service to communities near and far. Scholarships deepen students’ ability to contribute meaningfully to change across mental and behavioral health systems after they graduate.
Expanding Culturally Competent Education, Research and Direct Services
New investment will allow GSPP to broaden our reach and enhance culturally competent care for under-resourced populations in the region. Funding will also empower us to expand new and existing academic programming, research and direct services in areas like military psychology, sport coaching, perinatal to adolescent mental health and health psychology.
Investing in Interdisciplinary Inquiry
Our faculty members contribute to significant scholarly research, train outstanding professionals and engage our broader community through critical services, leadership and scholarship in their fields. Investment in endowed faculty positions enables us to recruit, reward and retain exceptional scholar-teachers and to advance their interdisciplinary work.
Deepening Community Care Across Colorado
DU meets critical mental and behavioral health needs across our Colorado community: we foster a culturally sensitive workforce that is equipped to skillfully serve individuals from diverse backgrounds and to uplift well-being across the Rocky Mountain region. Investment enriches our ability to broaden our community outreach and to deepen existing community partnerships.
